Daniel Brian Salon has moved!

As of Tuesday, September 5, Daniel Brian Salon has moved several blocks south from its current location to 5434 North Clark Street. I am now located in the heart of Andersonville, directly across from the Philadelphia Church at Rascher Avenue.

The new salon space is accessible by the #22 Clark Street bus, and there is plenty of metered street parking (as well as free side street parking) available. I look forward to seeing you in the new space!

Current COVID-19 Protocols

Daniel Brian Salon follows current state and local guidelines for COVID-19.

Per guidelines provided by the City of Chicago and State of Illinois, I ask that you please adhere to the following rules for your upcoming appointment:

If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms within 72 hours of your appointment, please contact me to reschedule. Symptoms may appear 2 to 14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

No more than one client will be allowed in Daniel Brian Salon at a time.

Please do not show up early (or late)! You will need to wait for the previous client to complete their service before you enter my suite. If you show up more than 10 minutes past your appointed time, we will have to reschedule, as I won't have time to properly complete your service and the necessary sanitation procedures for the next client.

I will respect your choice to wear a face mask, if desired (I will provide one for you if necessary)... I may choose to wear a mask for your service as well!

I am providing alcohol-based hand sanitizer and ask that everyone entering the salon immediately use sanitizer or wash their hands properly with soap and water.

Beverage service (except for bottled water) is suspended (no coffee, tea, or alcoholic beverages can be served at this time)

I am sanitizing the salon between each client, including cleaning of surfaces and touch-points. It takes additional time and cost of materials to do this, so I've added a $3 surcharge onto my normal prices for each service, and 15 minutes to each appointment.

I no longer double-book client services, which means I have less availability. As always, I encourage clients to schedule out 2 to 3 appointments at a time to ensure you get your preferred dates and times.

I assure you that your safety and well-being remain my #1 priority. I will update these salon policies as necessary. Let's all do our part to ensure that we keep moving in the right direction together!

Thank you for your continued patronage.

All my best,

Daniel DC

The Making of: All Dressed Up and No Where To Go

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Chicago was put on a shelter in place order in March 2020, and my salon has been effectively closed until we move to the next phase of re-opening - hopefully in JUNE! To keep my creative juices flowing, and my sanity, I created the “All Dressed Up and No Where To Go” project.

The following images are a series of makeup transformations done on yours truly by yours truly. I produced all of this work on my own: from concept, to makeup and styling, to lighting and photography (ask me how difficult it was to hold my iPhone and get the right shot as a selfie!). I hope all of this brings a beautiful distraction and a little bit of joy to all of you as we weather the storm.

I plan to create a coffee-table book with all of my finished looks in the coming months. Keep an eye out for it! #alldressedupandnowheretogo
